Changes in VMU dormitory 5 during Ramadan

On the evening of March 10, at the beginning of the Muslim holy month of fasting, Ramadan, VMU dormitory No. 5 (Universiteto st. 8, Akademija, Kaunas district) announces a change in the kitchen locking time.

During Ramadan, to accommodate students of Vytautas Magnus University who follow the Muslim faith, the kitchens on the 1st floor, as well as those on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors near the elevator, normally locked from 12 pm to 6 am, will remain unlocked throughout the fasting period. Ramadan, the ninth month of the Muslim calendar, prohibits Muslims from eating or drinking during the day, and they can only refresh themselves after the sun has set. VMU ensures that Muslim students living in dormitory No. 5 can observe their traditions.

Please note that the meditation room in VMU dormitory No. 5 is available. Both students observing Ramadan and other residents of dormitory No. 5 can use the meditation room for meditation, prayer, concentration, and other spiritual or psychological matters.

The kitchens will be available to residents of VMU dormitory No. 5 at night until the end of Ramadan on the evening of April 9, and the meditation room in the dormitory is always open.
